You will learn to tailor your coaching to different individuals, offering practical methods to embed coaching within a culturally diverse context. This includes demonstrating how to utilise the OSCAR approach to conduct more effective meetings, coach individuals through change, reduce stress, enhance emotional intelligence, and raise awareness about transactional analysis (TA) patterns that occur.
What Is This Session About?
Important Note: ‘Coaching as a Way of Work: Embedding OSCAR into Everyday Conversations’ is an advanced course. If you have limited knowledge or experience in coaching others, please enrol in ‘The Coaching Edge: Key Coaching Strategies for Management Success’ first.
What Does The Session Cover?
1. Understand how to tailor coaching interventions based on individual development levels which include the situational leadership concept
2. Explain strategies for improving underperformance with coaching and continuous improvement tools
3. Recognise opportunities for incorporating a coaching approach in daily work and organisational processes
Skills-based learning objectives: what participants will be able to do at the end of the workshop (their application)
1. Utilise the Performance Wheel as a tool for assessing and planning performance improvement
2. Tailor coaching language and approach based on team members' competence and commitment levels
3. Utilise the OSCAR model and informal coaching techniques to address performance challenges, which include managing underperformance, encouraging self-coaching, and effectively leading meetings during times of change or stress.

^ Completion: Upon 100% attendance and meeting Assessment requirement, learners will receive a Certificate of Participation from IAL (& other partners where applicable)

About the Speaker

Louise Phua has about 20 years' experience in corporate and consulting organisations. With extensive experience in multi-national human resources service providers, she is deeply familiar with talent acquisition and talent management in Asia. Louise is a Talent Coach, Facilitator, Trainer and Learning Designer.
Well-versed in talent management in Asia Pacific. she helps international companies to find and grow their talent and organisations. Her early career was in marketing and the media and in recent years, she has stints as a Learning Designer.She adopts a holistic and integrated approach to adult learning based on the Three Dimensions of Learning (Illeris, 2008). She has been involved in curriculum and instructional design for learning projects targeted at young adults, mid-career professionals and elderly learners. Her recent clients include Airbus, Nanyang Technological University, Sephora, Singapore Tourism Board, Temasek Polytechnic and counting.
