What Is This Session About?

This workshop explores the principles of effective e-learning instruction design, including the application of principles of learning theory, instructional strategies and assessment modalities in the context of online learning courseware design and development. 

It will help you understand and apply multimedia design principles, processes and techniques in the development and evaluation of e-learning materials.

By the end of the workshop, learners will be able to:
 

  • Gain understanding of multimedia design principles 
  • Understand processes and techniques in the development and evaluation of e-learning materials

Kumar Laxman (Dr) graduated with a PhD in instructional design and technology from Macquarie University, Australia with several other notable qualifications from some of the best universities. He has worked in various capacities, both as an educator and instructional designer with reputable educational organisations and tertiary institutions such as Minstry of Education (Singapore), Republic Polytechnic, University of New South Wales and National Institute of Education (NIE-NTU, Singapore). 

Dr Laxman has been actively promoting the use of technology to advance innovation in teaching and learning and has served as a catalytic leader in numerous e-learning and educational initiatives. He is knowledgeable in the various aspects in the field of educational design, having published widely in journals and presented at numerous international conferences. Possessing excellent communication and management skills, he is able to keep his audience engaged with his impressive style of training delivery.
