At its core, The Workshop Method emphasizes active participation, dialogue, respect for diverse perspectives and consensus-building. These processes are designed to unlock creativity, encourage open communication, and foster a sense of ownership among participants. 

 

This course aims to elevate your facilitation excellence through The Workshop Method to combine idea generation, small group work, and clustering to collect, organise, and label information.

This session will be conducted face-to-face at IAL. Further details about the session will be sent to those who have confirmed their registration. The class will only proceed if the minimum number of participants is met. Laptop is required for this course.

What Is This Session About?

The course emphasises the Technology of Participation (ToP) Workshop Method's commitment to creating a safe and respectful space for all voices to be heard. Facilitators trained in this method guide groups through structured processes such as brainstorming ideas, clustering-organising, naming consensus-building, and reflection to address complex situations. This one-day course structure involves demonstration and explanation, allowing participants to experience, observe, and ask questions for clarity. It includes small group preparation, group simulations for hands-on practice with real-life scenarios, facilitator feedback, method application discussions for real challenges in their work or project, and reflection on the day's experiences. 

 


What Does The Session Cover?

At the end of this session, participants will be able to:
 

  • Converge group's emerging ideas into decisions that everyone can own and support using the Technlogy of Participation Workshop Method 
     
  • Apply the Workshop Method (of combining idea generation, small group work, clustering to collect, organise and label info.) to a variety of workplace situations 

^ Assessment: Formative Assessment(s) (Assignments/Presentations/Practical Performances)

^ Completion: Upon 100% attendance and meeting Assessment requirement, learners will receive a Certificate of Participation from IAL (& other partners where applicable)
