What Is This Session About?

 

The Covid 19 pandemic has radically changed how educational institutions and corporate organisations learn and engage learners. One of the major shifts has been in the introduction of collaborative and virtual classroom technologies. While the platforms met the needs for that time, it was not able to fully emulate a physical classroom experience and fulfil all learning outcomes. However, today, continued advancement of A.I in Learning technologies has enabled facilitators to create virtual learning environments that provide a learning experience close to being in a real classroom. This 2-day hands-on workshop will enable the L&D practitioners to recognise the need to create a differentiated approach in deploying virtual classroom learning and understand the concept, methodology, tools and techniques required to facilitate learning using Next Generation virtual classroom platforms.

At the end of this session, participants will be able to take-away the following:
 

  • The changing landscape of learning and the convergence of virtual classroom technology into the Learning Experience Ecosystem and Hybrid workplace. 
  • Define what is Virtual classroom learning 
  • Technological trends defining the evolution of Virtual classroom (A.I , Metaverse/XR) 
  • Identify and state the benefits, features and functionalities of Next Gen Virtual classroom learning platforms 
  • Explore CLASS @Virtual classroom platform 
  • Explore Metaverse@ Virtual classroom Immersive platform 
  • Explore the functionalities of a virtual classroom environment 
  • Identify the technical requirements and considerations for virtual classroom delivery 
  • Apply the methodology for design and delivery of Virtual classroom learning 
  • Identify and evaluate the readiness requirement for self and the organisation to deliver Virtual classroom learning 
  • Identify next steps in building the capabilities to design, develop and deliver Instructor led virtual classroom learning

Bala Murali is a HRD practitioner and business leader with more than 25 years of experience in the field of Learning, Performance and Organizational Development. He is also the the founder and chair of the Digital Learning Community of Practice Network in Singapore consisting of around 40 HR and L&D leaders from various institutions, government bodies, MNCs and SMCs. Bala is an International Speaker on the transformation of learning and workforce development for the Digital and Social age. 

 

His more notable achievements include working in senior management roles regionally and globally for top technology companies (Motorola, Nokia and Microsoft) mainly in leading and driving the strategic people and capability development of the business. He is also a consultant who has worked with MNCs and SOEs in the Insurance, Petrochemical, Building, Railway, Banking, Medical and IT Industries across UK, APAC, US and MEA in various consulting and solution provider capacity focused in organizational, leadership capability development and digital workforce transformation.
