What Is This Session About?
Assessment of workplace skills is a growing need as it can be distinct from Training or Qualifications related assessment practices. This course looks at the inherent challenges surrounding the viability of workplace competency, and the benefits of corporate dashboards that provide a quick look at staff proficiency levels as well as an organisation's strengths and gaps. To align the session with real-world practices, the course begins with a Case (industry sector learning journey). The facilitator will then deploy instructional methods of knowledge dispensation, small group discussion and problem-solving to walk participants through the notion of skills credentialing, and the how-to and anticipated challenges of implementing micro skills credentialing at the workplace.
What Does The Session Cover?
By the end of the workshop, learners will be able to:
- Use of Skills Credentialing practices in industry and worker's development
- Identify domains / workplace skills segments for authentic workplace skills assessment
- Artificulate the components to construct a micro skills assessment system at the workplace
- Identify challenges in the implementation of a micro skills assessment system
