What Is This Session About?



Unlock the potential of Case-Based Learning (CBL) in our AI-driven age with this immersive 2-day workshop designed for adult educators. This hands-on workshop offers a blend of experiential learning and instruction. Participants will explore CBL fundamentals, experience dynamic case studies firsthand, and create their own, enhanced by GenAI tools. Topics covered include the design of effective CBL activities, integrating technology into the learning process, and strategies for facilitating impactful CBL sessions. By the end of the workshop, participants will gain the skills to design, facilitate, and assess CBL sessions that promote real-world problem-solving and critical thinking. Additionally, participants will learn how to use GenAI to streamline content creation and enhance learner engagement. 

What Does The Session Cover?

 

Knowledge-based learning objectives: Participants will know:
 

  • Explain the theoretical underpinnings of Case-Based Learning (CBL).
  • Describe the benefits and relevance of CBL for adult learners.
  • Analyse the effectiveness of CBL in fostering critical thinking, analysis, and problem-solving skills in adult learners.
  • Identify the key components of effective CBL design, including learning objectives, case selection, and guiding questions.
  • Discuss various assessment techniques for evaluating learner progress within CBL activities.
 
Skills-based learning objectives: Participants will be able to:

 

  • Design and develop engaging CBL scenarios and activities, incorporating generative AI tools and techniques.
  • Facilitate effective CBL sessions for adult learners, fostering active participation, promoting critical thinking, and guiding insightful discussions
